“Something” is a song by the English rock band the Beatles from their 1969 album Abbey Road. It was written by George Harrison, the band’s lead guitarist. Soon after the album’s release, the song was issued as a single, coupled with “Come Together”, making it the first Harrison composition to become a Beatles A-side.

Bruce is one of our greatest heroes. He’s still a rather young guy, and a celebration is due when he turns 69..

December 29: Bruce Springsteen played Nassau Coliseum in 1980

Bruce played 3 concerts @ Nassau Coliseum at the end of 1980, and the New-year eve concert is the most famous. The concert bootleg “Nassau Night” (Crystal Cat) from the 12-31-1980 concert is one of the most famous (& best) Springsteen boots. BUT the concert he played on the 29th is also fantastic… and he played a heavenly version of “Incident on 57th Street” (only River Tour version – and next live version didn’t come until September 25th 1999 in Philadelphia, PA)

November 19: Bruce Springsteen live at Kemper Arena, Kansas City in 1984 (full concert audio)

The fall leg of 1984 featured a more intense Bruce than the summer 1984 shows. The darker songs, such as “Johnny Bye Bye” and “State Trooper,” were played more and more. …. This show features a gorgeous “Racing in the Street,” as well as an extended “Nebraska set.

Many fans seems to agree on this being the best concert from the “Born In The U.S.A.” tour. Not my fav Springsteen tour, but this show is great!

Audience tape, probably the best of the tour. “Reason To Believe” has a intro with Bruce on the harmonica and Roy on the keyboards. “Johnny Bye-Bye” is introduced by Bruce as “Bye-Bye Johnny”, and includes a few lines of “Mystery Train” towards the end…  “Racing In The Street” includes the now usual intro and also a spoken part at the end. “Kansas City” is included in the “Detroit Medley”. Recent reports on this show indicate that the original tape (or a 1st generation copy of it) was used for a radio broadcast in it’s entirety and that this broadcast was the source for the generally circulating tapes including the Crystal Cat release “Kansas City Night” . Now the show is available directly from Rick B’s master recording. Edited directly from the unedited master, a lot less edited, cut and processed than the Crystal Cat release. ‘Thunder Road’ fades out on the Crystal Cat release, but it is complete on this one. (“Roses In The Kansas Rain”, Ev2).

September 19: Legendary Concert – Bruce Springsteen @ Capitol Theatre, Passaic NJ 1978

The September 19th 1978 concert at the Capitol Theatre in Passaic, in Bruce’s home state of New Jersey, is arguably Bruce Springsteen’s single greatest live performance. I’ve listened to quite a lot classic Springsteen bootleg concerts over the years.. this remains my favorite.

It is a stunning concert not least with Roy Bittan’s brilliant piano playing and Max Weinberg’s clockwork drumming providing a backdrop as hard as diamonds. It also has that characteristic feature of the tour that the slow songs are played with a burning intensity while songs like “”Badlands” and “Born to Run” sometimes display a New York Punk intensity.

From brucebase: Radio broadcast, soundboard tapes (all three nights in Passaic were recorded by the Record Plant’s mobile unit, both on multi-track and live-to-two track) and professionally shot in-house black and white video. Probably one of the best all-time concert recordings. Broadcast on WNEW-FM New York and nine other stations in the north-east, including WBCN-FM and WCOZ-FM Boston, WIOQ-FM Philadelphia and WIYY-FM Baltimore. Set includes great versions of “Because The Night” and “Fire,” and also includes what many consider to be the finest examples of “Racing In The Street” and “Thunder Road” ever. Essential. Also, video footage is available. A short live excerpt from this show (Bruce’s band introduction during “Rosalita (Come Out Tonight)”) was officially – and exclusively – released on a promotion-only 7″ flexidisc issued to subscribers of Austrian pop magazine “Rennbahn Express” in June 1981. Thanks to Lost in the Flood for that info. Following the show, WBCN-TV news reporter Felipe Luciano interviews Bruce. Released on CDs:
