Marianne Faithfull sings 7 Bob Dylan songs – Happy birthday Marianne Faithfull

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_message message_box_color=”mulled_wine” icon_fontawesome=”fa fa-quote-left”]Dylan was, at that moment in time, nothing less than the hippest person on earth. The zeitgeist streamed through him like electricity. He was my Existential hero, the gangling Rimbaud of rock, and I wanted to meet him more than any other living being. I wasn’t simply a fan; I worshipped him…

Full Dylan album covered – Street Legal

Bob Dylan’s Street-Legal covered

Street-Legal is the eighteenth studio album by Bob Dylan, released on June 15, 1978 by Columbia Records. The album was a serious musical departure for Dylan, who uses a large pop-rock band—complete with female backing vocalists—for the first time. Not his most critically acclaimed album, but I know a lot of people who loves it dearly (myself among them).

The originals are better, I agree, but I love to hear what other artists can do with such great material.

My favourites here are Ian Hunter, Patti Smith and Jerry Garcia.

Bob Dylan: Live versions of 10 songs from “John Wesley Harding”

John Wesley Harding is the eighth studio album by American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan, released on December 27, 1967, by Columbia Records. Produced by Bob Johnston, the album marked Dylan’s return to semi-acoustic instrumentation and folk-influenced songwriting after three albums of lyrically abstract, blues-indebted rock music. John Wesley Harding shares many stylistic threads with, and was recorded around the same time as, the prolific series of home recording sessions with The Band, partly released in 1975 as The Basement Tapes, and released in complete form in 2014 as The Bootleg Series Vol. 11: The Basement Tapes Complete.

As I walked out tonight in the mystic garden
The wounded flowers were dangling from the vines
I was passing by yon cool and crystal fountain
Someone hit me from behind

You’re talking to a person that feels like he’s walking around in the ruins of Pompeii … A song is a reflection of what I see all around me all the time.

Bob Dylan the Weatherman – A playlist

You don’t need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows
– Bob Dylan (Subterranean Homesick Blues)

Wikipedia:
Weather is the state of the atmosphere, to the degree that it is hot or cold, wet or dry, calm or stormy, clear or cloudy.

Bob Dylan uses the weather both as a metaphor and in a literary sense, he is especially fond of rain and wind.

I’ve choses track that fits the lingo of a weatherman or that makes me think of the weather. Continue reading “Bob Dylan the Weatherman – A playlist”
